Oh baby!

I never thought I would get to start a blog about having a baby!  Seriously, never thought it would happen to me.  After being married six and a half years, we "gave it to God". We tried timing, fertility medicine, and so on.  Low and behold...on Monday, July 15, 2013, I had a feeling.  I texted Luke from work and told him that I was going to pick up a pregnancy test on the way home.  I only bought one because I knew it would be negative.  So, I was in great shock when that blue line showed up in the result window.  I ran into the kitchen and told Luke to look at the test.  He immediately said "knock it off" after seeing the shock on my face.  He thought I was kidding!  We couldn't believe it!  I told him that he was going to drive me to the store to buy more tests.  This couldn't be right....we didn't even try to get pregnant.  So, after taking two more tests, I knew I was PREGNANT.  Against my better judgement, Luke wanted to call some of our family and tell them.  They were thrilled.

God definitely has his own timing.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:3-4

Back in April, on the day my Mamaw passed away, a family friend prayed over me.  She asked that God bless me with a child.  She told me that she had prayed for several other women and they had become pregnant only a few months after.  Low and behold, I became pregnant two months after that prayer.

Funny Facts:  Doctor's appointment on July 17 (anniversary is the 17th), doctor's appointment is exactly seven months from our anniversary, baby will be born during our 7th year of marriage.  Holy moly!

Thankfully, I already had an annual appointment with my new doctor scheduled for Wednesday.  I have never been so nervous for an appointment.  Luckily, they were able to do an ultrasound.  Baby measured 6 weeks 1 day and due on March 11, 2014.  (Luke's birthday is March 10th)   AND I heard the heartbeat!  That was the best sound I've. ever. heard.  I was literally a blubbering idiot.

We are counting the days until March.  Blessed beyond measure.
